Prince George’s County Working on Public Image

Starting next month strip joints in Prince George’s County, MD will be required to license their operation through the PG County Police Department. In order to obtain a license, the clubs must comply with a couple of new laws:

Dancers can be nude, but must remain at least 6 feet from patrons.

Dancers must perform on a stage that is at least 18 inches off the ground.

Dancers cannot touch or be touched on various body parts. (We’ll leave which body parts up to your imagination).

The new laws were enacted in an attempt to improve Prince George’s County’s public image. When a City’s best slogan is “Come to PG County, Where we don’t let the Pervs touch the Strippers!” you know things are bad.

If they had go-go gadget arms, they could still touch the strippers.

I love Inspector Gadget. I wish I had go-go gadget arms!

I went to elementary school in good old PG! But, I have never been to a strip club there. Hmm. Not to state the obvious or anything, but I would suggest there are one or two other things that PG County should work on, image-wise, before they jack with the hardest workin' girls in the county.

Mose; any comments from the mean streets?

An area of Hungry seems to have gone in a different direction while trying to create a reputation..Fancy sex on a fishing boat? Then visit the Lake Balaton resort, say Hungary's authorities in a recently launched campaign aimed at attracting young people to its main lake resort. The cartoon is an interesting approach

Hmm...Fumbles, very interesting link. I had a student in my second grade class this year whose family was from Hungary. She wrote a whole expository piece in writer's workshop about the fabulous places to visit - one of which being Balaton. No mention of the fancy sex on a boat, though. Maybe she's not quite part of the "target audience" as of yet??? As for PG, while protecting strippers is indeed an important initiative, I am wondering if perhaps the police could address the no-man's-land free-for-all drive-80-and-dodge-bullets stretch of 495 that spans from Route 50 until well after Route 4/Penn. Ave... Not a sermon, just athought... :)

fumbles - that cartoon of yours should've come with a not suitable for work disclaimer. except, then i replayed it twice (once for me, once for my co-worker). no plans to visit hungary any more. i don't want stars or hearts to shoot from my eyes - ever. though fancy sex on a fishing boat, in and of itself, is not out of the question.

jenny - yeah, that's exactly the strech that momma gris drives every day to work. she refuses to pull over for any circumstance.

Hey Lu, Bucket DID offer to maintain while you guys were away... All of us may have to endure a bit more of the stalkerazzi-esque stuff than usual, but then again, she DOES have a unique perspective... Plus, I LITERALLY don't know what I will do if I don't have this to check everyday.

Hey Captain, you should be proud of yourself as an educator. You inspired that kid to have a dream and set goals for himself. That's one of my favorite Captain stories, BTW. Right up there with you scaling the cliff to set off fireworks. Again, an example of someone who sets a goal and doesn't give up.

Oh, yeah. Sorry about that. I promise to label NSFW material in the future.

For those who are concerned about staying informed while Scooter & Lulu are experiencing all Europe has to offer, may I suggest Oddly Enough: http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=index&cid=573&/

It is in no way a replacement for this site, but it may provide some needed relief until the dynamic duo return.
