Bush In the News and I'm Confused
President Bush has been in the news more than usual the last few days and there are so many things he needs to address that it is hard to keep track of what is being said about what. Here is what I have been able to decipher:
We are safer, but not safe yet, but we will be safer when we move the terror detainees from the secret prisons that do exist, but used to exist or not exist, to Gitmo where they won't be tortured because of the American laws preventing torture that the President signed into law while attaching a codicil that said he could ignore them. Did I get that right? The only thing I'm sure of is that we are fighting something called the War on Terror which is or is not the War in Iraq because the War on Terror has something to do with 9/11 and Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 but they did back when we said they did . I have been mysteriously missing due to an unusually high work load coupled with having to care for my ailing husband. When I say ailing, I am exaggerating ... a lot ... but it does sound interesting.
Speaking of said husband, he (more frequently than the rest of us) visits Gitmo. He is, however, as in the dark as the rest of us (and them) are about the goings on down there. No insight in that regard. No cigars or rum either. So much for that.
Here's what I KNOW: I am becoming more and more fearful of our Administration as time passes. I've never trusted them, but I've also never been afraid to live here. I'm thinking that I am now afraid.
Onto Miss Harris. WTF! To all my peeps in Florida: PUH-LEEZE do not vote for her. Better yet; VOTE AGAINST HER. If it helps, I promise it is not God's will that she be a member of the United States Senate. I, in fact, have been praying over this. I have also been reviewing the Constitution and I am damn sure that the founders did intend for separation of church and state. So-friggin-there, Miss Harris.
Hasta Luego from South Florida.

Anonymous,
Did you mean to support the stereotype that most Bush supporters are simply uniformed individuals willing to rubber stamp anything their boy wonder comes up with? If not, you might want to articulate why you think the administration is "doing a fine job." You didn't give us much to go on.
