Michael J. Fox is a Faker and In "Their Crotches" Democrats Support Mark Foley's Actions

Brilliant (-ly idiotic) radio persona Rush Limbaugh has said something else offensive. This time he is bashing Michael J. Fox, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, for releasing a series of ads where he endorses candidates who support stem cell research. I can't really make the quote any more hilarious than it already is:

"He is exaggerating the effects of the disease," Limbaugh told listeners. "He's moving all around and shaking and it's purely an act. . . . This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox. Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting...This is the only time I've ever seen Michael J. Fox portray any of the symptoms of the disease he has, he can barely control himself."

So...Michael J. Fox didn't take his medication so people would see what Parkinson's disease really does to the people who suffer from it? Where I'm from, we call that BRAVE.

Maybe Rush is just upset because when he goes off his meds, he can't perform sexually. (I know none of you click on the links...that was a thinly veiled reference to Rush Limbaugh getting caught with Viagra that wasn't prescribed to him.)

Also while I was looking for this picture of Rush, I stumbled upon this article about Rush's claims that the Democrats set up Mark Foley and secretly support pedophilia.

I think Rush turned to crack after his pain killer bust. Either that or he's misplaced his soul somewhere. Who in their right mind says stuff like that?

And if we're talking conspiracy theories here: You do know that Rush and Mark Foley both hail from Palm Beach. I'm sure they're good buddies - in the same way described in Lulu's Washinton Post article outlining one aspect of GOP hypocracy.

I welled up when I saw this on the news last night (okay, maybe it's the end of the post-pregnancy hormones, but still...). They even showed a clip of Rush acting out what he thought MJF looked like. As a person who also has a disability and could stand to benefit from this kind of treatment one day, it broke my heart to see someone making fun of another human being in such a way. MJF allowed himself to be vulnerable and honest in that ad. In a world where people (myself included!) often worry about their outward appearances, he allowed people to see him in a way that up until now his family and friends had witnessed. Maybe if there weren't people in the world like Rush Limbaugh, people like MJF and myself wouldn't feel as though they had to always make efforts to act like every single aspect of their disability is a piece of cake. Everyone has their challenges - Rush is certainly no exception. It's in how you handle those challenges that define you as a person, and it is evident that Michael J Fox is someone who has class and integrity, while Rush is a big fat faker.

Thanks for you're post Jenny! A heartfealt personal perspective to add to what we already know and what Al Franken has so eloquently stated, "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot"

Couldn't have said it better myself Jenny. You are my everyday hero.

Because of his celebrity, MJF has become the unofficial face of Parkinson's. If he had appeared in commercials or before Congress medicated, he would have failed all of the people in this country who have Parkinson's that either cannot be treated with medication or cannot afford the medicine they need. He was telling the truth about what this disease does to people's lives. He was showing that medication is not a cure. To fault him for that is nothing short of sick. Maybe Rush would feel better about stem cell research if there was a promise of treating ED or painkiller addiction.

Ok, I've said enough about this. Besides, Jenny said it better.

Who knew being an oxy addict could destroy your human kindness as well as your hearing?

Why didn't Rush Limbooby get the tara-ble idea award? Jenny, I am always proud of you and 100% behind you. Mainly because I am normally walking slower than you. Lu lu, I agree with your point that him off his medication is valid way to point out that not everyone can afford the types of treatments and therapies MJF has access to. Rush should drop the viagra and try some anti-crazy pills!
